I just think it's a coincidence really, and the writers have stated it was written in the 80s, long before Kylie's.

I don't know why that single was released.  The single, "A Little Love" written by Harding & Curnow was a much better song in my opinion!!!

I'm pretty sure the UK public voted and it won as a result.

Yeah, the public voted on a show called 'a song for europe' (to be UKs entry for Eurovision song contest) and 'better the devil' won...cant remember any of the other songs, but they surely can't have been as nauseating as that song! An unfortunate coincidence though.  It came second in the Eurovision song contest, and went top 20 here in the charts so perhaps i'm in the minority in disliking it Wink

I don't like this tune at all. For me unfortunately, Sonia hasn't done anything good after she left PWL.

I loved 'Be Young, Be Foolish' off her second CD . . . In fact there were quite a few good uptempos on that album. Smiley

Only Fools and You to Me Are Everything are both equally good specially in extended versions.  Hot Tracks did an excellent remix of That Boy.  Classic Hi-Nrg Anthem!  Should have been a single in my opinion!!!

Her self-titled album wasn't too bad. The problem was she started doing a different style of music, all of her post-PWL albums have a retro 60'-70's sound, which did not suit her in my opinion. The only song I liked from Better The Devil You Know was her remake of Boogie Nights, great cover!

That said, her self-titled album had some very good tunes, I like all 3 singles released off it quite a lot. But she relied too much on doing so many cover songs after that.

Yeah, its a shame when singers (or more likely their managers) take that route of singing cover versions, I think that it really devalues them as artists. The occasional cover version is fine, and can really enhance someones career if the right song and good production are used, but I think too many cover versions and the public tend to see them as 'novelty acts'

Apart from Sonia I think Sinitta has done that too much as well (She really didn't need to do 'mountain top', 'hitching a ride' & 'right back' all on one album). Hazell Dean has been guilty of this, although she's gone down the 'remaking past hits' route as well (even worse in my book).

It would be nice if the artists had as much faith in their own talents as their fans do, and released new songs...Dead or alive have been good on that score, in the last 20 years they've never really sat on their laurels (although we never need to hear another remake of 'you spin me round' do we)

I love the 12" Version of YTMAE! It's a little bit faster and differently mixed.
